Let’s review of what we have learned about plastic, so far
-
Plastic bags and wrap
Make sure they are soft and stretchy, or have a recycling symbol on the bottom or along it.
They also need to be clean, dry and flat, so an animal or child doesn’t suffocate in one, if it gets loose and blows away.
-
Balloons
The estimate for the number of sea birds dying from eating plastic each year is about one million. Injesting balloons is at the top of the list for killing the most birds.
Please don’t use them, or make sure they go in your NO WASTE BOX.
-
Nets
Just like larger sea animals get caught in fishing nets, small ones, like fish get caught in the nets we use, too.
